Radio 2 In Concert

Back in 1985, a-ha released their debut album, Hunting High & Low, and went on to take the UK charts by storm with smash hits that included Take On Me and The Sun Always Shines on TV. In 2010, the multi-platinum selling trio retired, but now they are back with their tenth studio album, Cast in Steel. The BBC Radio Theatre opens its doors to the legendary Norwegian band who play hits old and new for a BBC Radio 2 In Concert show presented by Jo Whiley.

BBC Maida Vale opens its doors to US singer-songwriter Gregory Porter, whose gift for uniting jazz, soul, gospel and R&B has awarded him a Grammy and worldwide critical acclaim. Hosted by Jo Whiley, the intimate Radio 2 In Concert features songs from his critically acclaimed back catalogue of work and new music from his recently released fourth album, Take Me to the Alley.

Sir Van Morrison takes to the stage at The BBC Radio Theatre for a Radio 2 In Concert hosted by Jo Whiley. The recently knighted Grammy-winning Celtic soul troubadour has been in the business for 53 years fusing R&B, jazz, blues and Celtic folk. Belfast born Van the Man is among popular music's true innovators and arguably one of the most influential vocalists in the history of rock and roll. He performs a selection of tracks, old and new, from his revered back catalogue of work to his new album Keep Me Singing.

On the eve of the release of their 2016 album "Acoustic" Simple Minds took to the stage at the Hackney Empire to perform a stripped-down and reimagined set of their songs spanning their eclectic and illustrious career. Hosted by Jo Whiley this concert sees the Glaswegian rockers replace the synths with guitars to perform an acoustic set of songs without losing any of their essence.

Jo Whiley presents Tom Odell live in concert from the famous BBC Maida Vale Studios in front of an audience of Radio 2 listeners. Tom Odell has become one of the UK's rising stars in music. In 2012 aged 21, the British singer-songwriter made his television debut on BBC Two's Later... with Jools Holland, won in the Critics' Choice category at the Brit Awards and released his debut single, Another Love, which to date has sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide. The following year Tom went on to release his platinum-selling first full length studio album, Long Way Down, which went straight to number one in the UK charts. In his career to date, Tom has also won an Ivor Novello award for Songwriter of the Year, and supported legendary musicians such as Elton John and Billy Joel.

Jo Whiley hosts the final BBC Radio 2 In Concert of the year with Mr Entertainment himself, Robbie Williams. The pop singer-songwriter, reunited with his long term writer Guy Chambers, is back with his new album The Heavy Entertainment Show and has recently reclaimed his pop crown by becoming the most successful British solo act in the Official Albums Chart history. The former Take That singer and Britain's man of the moment take to the stage to perform old hits and new to an intimate crowd.
