Dan and a team of historians and scientists take part in what is thought to be the first attempt to recreate a pioneering trip through the Grand Canyon. The 280-mile expedition follows the 1869 passage of John Wesley Powell down the Green and Colorado rivers in the American west. Dougal Jerram, Mike Dilger and Sam Willis are amongst those joining Dan.

Dan and team continue down the Grand Canyon in some antique wooden boats as they find out more about one of the Wild West’s great adventures.
