North Carolina Weekend visits Good Hops Brewing in Carolina Beach for beer and disc golf, then we sample the outrageous ice cream at Mason’s Sweet Shoppe in Union Grove. Next, Bob Garner sample the ‘cue at the re-opened Wilber’s Barbecue in Goldsboro, we explore Hammocks Beach State Park in Onslow County, and we meet neon glass artist Nate Schaeffer.

North Carolina Weekend visits Krankies Coffee in where it seems all of Winston-Salem starts their day, then we paddle and camp along the Roanoke River, we learn about orchids in Seagrove, and meet the young chefs behind the community inspired restaurant Benne on Eagle in Asheville.

North Carolina Weekend heads to Brevard where Deborah Holt Noel tries RV camping, then we visit Café Madeleine, a French bakery in Farmville. Next, we explore Pettigrew State Park in Creswell, visit Stone Ashe Vineyards in Hendersonville, and finally, we meet sculptor Jordan Parah in a collaboration with Our State Magazine.

North Carolina Weekend heads to Mount Airy where Round Peak Vineyards is crafting wines, beer, even rental cabins. Next, we explore Fort Macon State Park. Then it’s a visit to the popular Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre in Henderson, followed by a journey down the Appalachian Mural Trail. Then, we end up in Durham where So Good Pupusas crafts Salvadoran food with a social mission.

Join us from UHill Walls in Durham. From here, we head to Charlotte to explore the creative community at Camp North End, then to Todd to meet the new owners of the Todd General Store. Staying in the mountains, we visit Homeplace Beer Company in Burnsville, where they craft beers from local ingredients. Finally, we return to Charlotte to meet the owners of the famous Morris Costume Shop.

North Carolina Weekend heads to Warsaw where the Duplin County town hosts the longest running Veterans Day parade in the country, then we learn about the Hiddenite Arts and Heritage Center, Bob Garner samples innovative bistro fare at On the Square in Tarboro, and we meet a Honduran coffee roaster who makes his home and business in Holly Springs.

North Carolina Weekend explores the Daniel Boone Heritage Trail, then tours the Horton Hotel in Boone, learns about antiquing in Wilson, previews the Celebration of Seagrove Potters, and learns the traditions of Moravian cookies.

North Carolina Weekend explores Durham history through vintage postcards, then we visit the community of Traphill in Wilkes County, next we learn about the arts and crafts taught at The Workshop in Graham, Bob Garner samples arepas in Raleigh, and we meet photographers from Roam Outdoors who capture the spirit of the mountains.

North Carolina Weekend introduces the iconic King Saul statue at the NC Museum of Art, then we learn how people with disabilities can navigate the state’s art museum, next we follow artist Seraphim Smith as he visits Smith’s Red & White Grocery in Rocky Mount to get some inspiration for a painting, and then we meet Larry Smith, the Christmas Tree Whisperer at his Christmas tree farm.

North Carolina Weekend visits cozy winter escapes around the state like The Fearrington House Inn, Beech Mountain Resort, The Grand Bohemian Hotel in Asheville, a waterfall tour of Transylvania County, and a weaver from Morganton.

North Carolina Weekend explores sweet temptations around the state as we visit Once Upon a Chocolate in Gibsonville, The Candy Factory in Lexington, La Guinguette Café in Black Mountain, Uncle Cheesecake in High Point, Miss Angels Heavenly Pies in Mount Airy, and the Jam Man in Asheville.

From the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, North Carolina Weekend goes back to nature, starting with a tour of the Duke Lemur Center, followed by a hike around the Nags Head Woods Nature Preserve. Then we head to Asheville to see the animals at the Western North Carolina Nature Center, make a visit to Grandfather Mountain in Linville, and wrap up in Albemarle at the North Carolina Bee Exchange.
