Kokoda

When the japanese army landed on the north coast of Papua in July 1942, Australia faced the real prospect of invasion for the first time. The campaign which followed took place largely along a narrow mountain track over the Owen Stanley Ranges, from Kokoda village in the north to the capital of Port Moresby.
