A famed composer and promoter of beat bands is arrested along with the band "The Sound of The Plastic Axe" and its fans for recording in front of the promoter's dead wife. The enterpreneur is accused of murder and Judd accepts to defend him.

Judd and Ben fight for distribution rights to a controversial film—a documentary made inside a mental hospital by patient Shelly Gould. The hospital refuses to release the film, claiming it will harm the rehabilitation of a newly released patient.

Conclusion of a two-part drama that began on "Felony Squad." Judd and Ben go to court in behalf of Marcel Nburo, a proud African chief who's facing a murder charge. The lawyers intend to build a case establishing reasonable doubt and providing an alternative suspect—arresting officer Sam Stone.
