The tough environment of heat and humidity challenges the teens to their very limits, as one is overcome with heat exhaustion. With only a few days gone one teen has had enough and is determined to go. The Iban hosts are bemused by the behaviour of their young guests and call a tribal council.

When it comes to the daily essential tasks vital to ensure that they eat, things are not getting done. One teen has wanted to leave from the start and is more determined than ever to go. The camp nutritionist warns that unless things change, one girl will have to depart for her own safety - a warning she ignores.

It's halfway and the Iban despair that their guests will never understand how to become self-sufficient hunter gatherers. Nutritionist Alice Sykes is anxious about the teens' lack of motivation as well as their overwhelming dislike of the jungle's fresh produce, and then the Iban make a startling announcement.

Three weeks into their jungle adventure, the Iban tribe have taught the teens enough and they are forced to go it alone for two days. Nutritionist Alice Sykes will measure their progress, and make sure the teens work as a team.
