On his first morning in the citadel, he takes a stroll in the winter coloured citadel with Kashuu Kiyomitsu, who used to be held by their original master and fellow Shinsengumi, Okita Souji. Shortly after the appearance of Kondou Isami's beloved sword Nagasone Kotetsu, an order is issued to sortie at Ikedaya.
