The Ultimate Rider

The rookies take on their first challenge. It involves a zippy Honda postie bike! Judge and Mentor Daryl Beattie will be focusing on acceleration, braking and cornering.

Before they can claim the ultimate prize - a testing contract with Team Honda Racing and $20,000 - the contestants must complete a challenging dirt skills session. Special guest and professional dirt racer Shane Boyd will be watching.

To test the rookies' fundamental skills of accelerating, braking, and cornering, Daryl Beattie and Team Honda Racing boss Paul Free have designed a challenge to see who can control the big Honda bikes at slow speeds around a confined, tight circuit.

At the halfway point of the contest, the competitors take some time out to celebrate a very special day. Ultimate Rider contestant Glenn Scott has turned 21. It's a moving occasion for Glenn who lost his parents to a bike accident at 12 years of age.

As Moto GP Legend Daryl Beattie and Team Honda Racing Boss Paul Free know all too well, being a successful motorbike racer takes more than a need for speed. Our judges test the rookies' brains and brawn in challenges that test them to the limit.

Our rookies' braking and throttle control faces the test as they hold a bucket of water between their legs whilst navigating a tricky course. Riding smoothly and keeping dry will keep their pride intact. Erratic riding, however, will spell disaster!

It's semifinal time for The Ultimate Rider contestants, as tensions run high and the competition gets fierce. This is the final chance to earn points - double points in fact! Seven rookies know only three will remain after this challenge.

It's D-Day. After eight grueling weeks of competition, one very talented rookie will stand atop the podium and take the crown of Insure My Ride's The Ultimate Rider. His prize - $20,000 and a dream contract with Team Honda Racing.
