The Last Frontier: Shipwrecks: Graveyards of the Deep

John Stoneman and the Foundation for Ocean Research travel to the Turks and Caicos Islands to solve the mystery of sunken warships, and in so doing, uncover 18th century Spanish gold. Struck by gold fever and still trying to document the names of these historic wrecks, the crew fights against time as a hurricane approaches.

While surveying the sea floor in the Caribbean, the Foundation divers come across a number of relatively new shipwrecks with seemingly no logical explanation for their sinking. That is, until Stoneman and one of his divers make a dangerous deep penetration into one of the wrecks.

John Stoneman leads his team on a search for an important piece of wreckage lost from the shipwreck of the Arabia. The piece that they are searching for is the Pilot House, which lost over 100 years ago during the vessel's sinking in the Great Lakes. Frigid waters and extreme depths make this a very demanding expedition.

The Foundations divers team up with an Israeli group to search for a shipwreck in the Red Sea, which they later establish sank some 2000 years ago. Much of the work performed is in an effort to establish the wreck's nationality, which comes about through the discovery of a very unusual artifact.
