Paul explores the fate of HMS Boyd where in 1809 between 60 to 70 of its crew were slaughtered and cannibalised by local Maori in Whangaroa Harbor in a bloody act of revenge.

Paul also explores the sinking of the ocean liner RMS Niagara, a ship not only leaving New Zealand with passengers but eight tons of gold destined for the vaults of the Bank of England - only to be stopped by sinking near the Whangarei Heads on 19th June 1940 thanks to a mine.
