Reuben: Life in the Dales

Reuben faces challenges excavating near a crumbling stone barn. He also mentors aspiring young farmer Sidney and fixes a vintage tractor, hoping to bag a prize with their fixer upper.

Reuben takes on a new apprentice: his 18-year-old brother Miles. And although Reuben has never been on a plane before, Tommy wants to help his friend face his fear of heights - with an invitation to skydive.

With winter approaching it's a time for Reuben and his crew to learn new skills as Reuben's team have never tarmacked before. Later they test the new and improved road in their old three-wheeler Robin Reliant.

It's Christmas, so Reuben and Tommy are picking a giant tree for the local town, but the pressure is on to deliver it for the big day. And the cold, wet days see the team's first test drive of the new 4x4.

Reuben sets about renovating a 200-year-old tumble-down cottage, and discovers an old well in the process. He also helps new girlfriend Jess round up her flock at her family farm.

As winter comes to an end, Reuben and Jess salvage stone from a quarry, but machinery troubles slow them down. Meanwhile, Reuben joins Tommy and Miles in airlifting flagstones via helicopter to restore a rugged stretch of the coast-to-coast trail in the Yorkshire Dales. Plus, the family reflect on Miles’s recent medical emergency, as he and Amanda reunite with the air ambulance team that provided critical care.

To mark his 21st birthday, Reuben and his friends gear up for their biggest challenge yet, as they attempt an incredible 100 mile cross-country vintage tractor rally to the Whitby coast.

As spring arrives in the Dales, Reuben tackles a massive stone order, helps Jess during the hectic lambing season, and lays foundations for the Billingtons' house extension. He rounds off the busy period by hosting a rustic BBQ for the team—though his cooking skills leave room for improvement.
