In an elite Maribor neighborhood, a cleaning lady finds the bloodied body of a prominent doctor.
Although traces point to a suicide, a handful of illogical details become reason enough for Inspector Vrenko to open an investigation. It turns out that not only the neighborhood is cold and sterile, also its residents are cold and inaccessible. After the first conversations, Vrenko can't shake the feeling that all the interlocutors are hiding something and at the same time everyone is watching out for everyone.

The key unlocks the closely guarded secret of the unfortunate doctor. The discovered Pandora's box, however, triggers the domino effect among the neighbors, and the secrets of the other residents come out one by one. In the teaching collective of one of Maribor's schools, fatal accidents begin. During the return from the seminar on Pohorje, three members of the school collective crash by car. Things start to get complicated when it turns out that an accident in which one of them lost her life may not have been an accident at all. Soon after, another member of the school's collective, allegedly, died in a brutal robbery. But after talking to a young offender, it turns out that her death was not the result of robbery. When a third member of the school staff dies as a result of a violent death, criminal investigators suspect that a serial killer has appeared at the school. Inspector Vrenk is convinced that the perpetrator is hiding in the team, whose members pass his team like a table tennis ball. The investigation seems to be spinning in a vicious circle. However, a leap in Inspector Vrenk's thinking leads to the killer, who seemed the least harmful of all the co-workers in the collective.
