In this first episode of a new series of Our Own Iceland, adventurer Garpur I Elísabetarson and climber Andri Már Ómarsson go on an expedition up Hraundrangi in Öxnadalur.

Garpur shows Andri the ice caves in Kötlujökull.

Garpur I Elísabetarson went this time to Vaðalfjöll in the Westfjords.

Garpur and his companions, Jónas and Andri Már, went on an expedition to Svarfaðadalur to climb Kerlingareld. Kerlingareld is a wall in the middle of a mountain called Kerling that towers over the valley. The wall is 200 meters high and not many climbers have climbed it. Jökull Bergmann led the first expedition in 1997 and only 12 groups of climbers have reached the top since.

Garpur I. Elísabetarson and his companions set out on a long and rigorous expedition into Morsárdalur in southeast Iceland, heading for Þumal, a 120-meter peak at the foot of Vatnajökull in the so-called Skaftafellsfjöll mountains.

In this final episode of Our Own Iceland, Garpur goes on a Merkurker, which is an easy and fun adventure trip in the Eyjafjöll mountains, a fun ford in tunnels and at the end of the tunnel you come out into a beautiful valley in the Eyjafjöll mountains.
