Lieve survives an assassination attempt, thanks to the self-sacrificing actions of Prosecutor Hein Berg. Will this prove fatal for him? The presumed-dead Ben Slachter has secretly been following his former partner Stan's investigation. While Lieve can understand Ben's actions, Stan feels very differently. Meanwhile, Esther and Dries are faced with a case involving a kidnapped baby, with the kidnappers demanding millions in ransom. Lieve and Stan arrest Jort Wester, a respected businessman accused of rape by his underage adopted daughter. The journey to the detention center, however, does not go smoothly.

Meanwhile, Lieve and Stan handle a report of a rape being live-streamed on Facebook. Can they locate where this is happening and stop it in time? A gruesome discovery in an abandoned truck leads Stan, Lieve, and Hein to a group of human traffickers. When Stan and Lieve track down the perpetrators, their own lives are put at risk. Meanwhile, Dries and Esther prevent an enraged woman from stabbing her husband, who claims his wife has lost her grip on reality since the death of their child two months prior. Esther confides in Dries about her promise to quit her job if she and Jacco start a family, and her deep doubts about this decision. Stan and Lieve investigate a jewelry store robbery that resulted in a fatality. While out one evening, Dries encounters a violent man who has lost control; it turns out he has taken a new drug. When Jort Wester is released, he is met by members of the motorcycle club who had previously tried to kidnap him. Ben intervenes and rescues him from the situation. Henri Houtman has stolen Kim and Ben’s cocaine and is attempting to sell it quickly. Ben and Kim try to recover the stolen drugs. Stan and Lieve are suspicious of Ben’s motives, but he manages to dispel their doubts and requests freedom to act independently in order to apprehend everyone involved.
