The 2nd gun fires at the same speed relative to its self regardless of the speed it is moving relative to the earth so I figured why not add the speed of another gun and get much more energy? To my knowledge no one has ever tried shooting a gun from a gun before. Perhaps using this method I could overcome the limits of gas guns and actually launch something into space. Its depressing to see so many bees dead but the hive is still doing OK. A grand total of 2 bees came back to life when I warmed them up; I took the survivors back to the hive and buried the rest by the creek.

everyone thinks I have a strange way of doing dishes so I thought I would film myself doing them. unfortunately things didn't go quite to plan. I think this is the first time I have ever filmed my self getting hurt. while I was washing a glass cup the cup broke and cut me. it wasn't that bad, just a lot of blood.

I got me a small camera and I thought I would try sending it up on a balloon. sorry about the spinning this was the first time I have ever tried this. I sent the camera up again but pointing sideways with some stabilizing fins but unfortunately the balloon flew into a cloud and I lost track of it loosing the camera.

As described in the video I am starting a project where I take a camera every time I work on bee stuff so you can see what its like to be a bee keeper and learn as if you where doing it yourself, or at least closer to that than just reading about it or taking a class where you are hit with a huge amount of information all at once and then promptly forget it. I do know quite a lot but I don't claim to know everything and I guarantee that I will be learning things even as I am filming but isn't t

A Beekeeper should have some wood working skills as... well bees like to live in wood. wow 22 minutes I better make that my rough time limit. I can already tell these episodes will have very variable length.

I really should not have opened the hive with the temperature bellow 40 degrees but I had to check on them and you cant always visit in good whether. besides I only got stung on my jacket ( the dark color attracts stings more than my pale skin) and I am not really counting that. I will keep a running total of the stings I receive to my body over the year. (I have never bothered counting and I am curious)

Unfortunately despite my efforts the Westminster bees did not make it through the winter. but no worries I have a plan bee.

I managed to talk my sister into helping film, as I do a seasons first inspection of my strongest hive.

the box hive hasn't quite come out of hibernation so i have to change my plans slightly.

wherein I put extra drone comb into the hive to stimulate drone production.

I cleaned the hive and replaced the screen in preparation for new bees.

I make bee candy to seal the queen cages and to feed the bees. had to re-upload because half the video was missing.

agh!! Slow Internet! its getting hard to upload videos. this is just an update on some of my hives. I have given up on keeping track on the number of bee stings I get this year because I have completely lost count.

I give my bees a little extra forage during a time with few flowers; this is only temporary

I transplant swarm cells into my experimental mating nucs to hopefully avoid a swarm without splitting the hive and get some queens in the process.

I start putting up swarm traps, though this may be a bad year.

I make and put up some more swarm traps.

I switch out the queen in the top bar hive, beef up the nuc, and add a box to the grantsville hive

I get Hannah to film as I move a hive and take a swarm from it in the process.

I send a balloon up into the sunshine while It is dark down at ground level.

I Take a video while candling week old incubated chicken eggs.

I attached a camera to a styrofoam glider and this happens.

The nitric was very pure 99%+ (anhydrous). The water was from rain collected over painted steel and the other chemicals ( HCl, NaOH & NH4NO3) were industrial grade.

Attempting to bottle this summers honey; it has started to crystallize, is a little cold, and has a low water content so it moves very slow.

This is the second round of small scale tests following my balloon in sand experiments.

I render down my supply of wax in preparation for a candle making workshop i am putting on.

Today I helped do a trash audit of the school and I decided that I would try to make something interesting by recycling what I found.

I make a candle out of bees wax and then electrocute it.

I cheak out my hives to see how they are doing before winter.

I blow the bottom out of a bottle by hitting the top with my hand. Its a common demonstration but I decided to take a whack at it.
