A View from the Terrace

Phone Johnny Flair, because the boys are back in town! A View from the Terrace is back and the team is going off like milk in the sun. This is a jam-packed episode as the studio team starts the show with wild statements about the season ahead after just six games.

The team debates whether the cost of tickets is too high, if players are ever really 'too good for that level' and whether Scotland are making Andy Robertson worse.

The team discusses the Premiership title race - the fact we’ve actually got one and whether it’s exciting or actually a bit boring - and chats about whether fans should get angry about football.

In 'It's Only Week 14' the boys make some big statements to bow out. Then ring the bell, it's the return of 'The Foot'se Index'. Hamilton's Lewis Smith is on the rise as he follows in the footsteps of some other bright young things, Salim Kouider-Aissa - 'the best striker in the country' according to Craig Telfer - is at the top of his game after a spell in the Juniors, Keiron Bowie, the tank-like young striker banging in goals for Raith gets some attention and Ryan Jack is the most improved player in the Premiership. Away from the studio, from the clack of boots and the stringing of nets, to sighs and cheers, to pies and beers, it’s 'One Saturday'; a day like no other. After that, we ask that age old question: 'Can a child fix Scottish football?' And if you think that we should be turning people into cats, the answer is a definitive yes.

A View from the Terrace is back with all the best bits from the series. We take another hop across to the islands to bask in the cosy tale of Eriskay FC and their sheep manure-covered but FIFA-approved pitch, one of the eight most remarkable places on earth to play football. Back in the studio, Mr Dinosaur - aka Telfer - makes a case for manager transfer windows, while Joel tries to explain the importance of goals that were never scored in See Ya Later Debater. We revisit one of Rob's best social media sections of the year, but not before we revisit some of Telfer's best introductions. The boys talk 'team of the year' with Livingston’s Marvin Bartley as well as 104-year hoodoos with Hibernian legend Lewis Stevenson. We talk fresh air and high hopes with the man at the helm of a tiny wooden hut in Edinburgh that has produced hundreds of Scottish professional footballers in The Talent Factory, and then visit Glasgow to talk with one of the city's most famous clubs.

The boys are back too share their love for all things Scottish football. In This is All the News, Craig G Telfer leads the team on a whistlestop tour of what’s happened in Scottish football since the last series. They discuss a managerial merry-go-round that hasn’t stopped spinning, the transfers that have everyone talking and the clubs who have been sliding up and down the table. The lads then don their long white coats to create their latest 'Frankenballer’s monster’, but does the pelvis of Declan McManus, the right leg of Joe McKee, the ice-cold heart of Kevin Nesbit and Odsonne Edouard’s brain leave them set for World Cup glory? In Love Me, Robert Borthwick investigates Scottish football’s social media content, including Ladies Day at Falkirk and getting drunk in Fife. And with Brexit confirmed,Craig Telfer wonders if we should make Scottish football great again and limit the number of foreigners in a squad, while Shaughan is out to bankrupt your local furniture maker by removing the substitutes bench. In Big Team Found, the lads adopt their new favourite sides, with Telfer and Shaughan following Hamilton Academical and Livingston, before Joel and Fowler square up in an Aberdeen v Hibernian battle. Outside of the studio, we take a trip to Somerset Park to take a behind-the-scenes look through The Window as manager Mark Kerr faces up to his first transfer window and then meet Scotland's Euro 2020 representatives as they hit the qualification trail.

Joel takes us to the Leith San Siro, before Telfer recommends a trip to Annan (sort of) for your chance to take in Scottish football’s beauty. Outside of the studio we meet those behind the BSC Glasgow Scottish cup dream as they work out, with a tiny part-time group of staff, how you go about hosting Premiership giants Hibernian in the biggest game of their short history, and hit the hills with football freestyler David Mennie.

The hounds of love are back, and on A View from the Terrace, Scottish football is their everlasting siren song. John Sutton joins his best friend Craig G Telfer for The Time Capsule to discuss perhaps the maddest game in Scottish football history, Motherwell 6-6 Hibernian, featuring a van Basten volley, Euro qualifying stakes and a fist-pumping Craig Brown. Plus, some dressing room insight into Joel’s hero Vladimir Romanov. Outside of the studio, we meet Campbell from Campbeltown as his side Campbeltown Pupils take the long trip to the central belt on just another Saturday in Away, Away, and Duncan and Duncan ride again as they head to Arbroath to assist during the day’s matchday hospitality at Gayfield. But who exactly is Mark Watley? The show ends with Last Minute Winner as Raith Rovers fan David Latto ensures there will be only one name on your lips as he smashes out the Kirkcaldy club’s iconic anthem Geordie Munro.

Scottish football is a different class and A View From the Terrace is here to tell you why. In Small-Time Behaviour the boys are found squeezing their balls as they head for a football-themed therapy session with managers owning their defeats, missing match day pints and lower league abuse discussed on the couches. In Insert Managers Oot will it be Stendel, Duffy, Robinson or Johnston, that are in danger of being sucked into the dark vortex at the centre of Scottish football’s managerial galaxy. Outside of the studio we join Icelandic football’s most successful import, Scottish striker Steven Lennon, as he gives an insight into his life in the land of ice and fire in Scottish Passport and head to Cappielow to find out what makes the iconic stadium 'home' to their fans.

In It’s Only Week 30 But... Billy Gilmour is going to be world-class, Joel is speechlessly fuming at Hamilton Accies, and Telfer is right behind the Brechin City survival bid, sort of. The boys take a trip to Soccer Land in Half and Half Scarves as they look at what we can learn from American sports. Fowler proposes an all-star game, while Telfer wants to see celebrity owners at the Indodrill Stadium. In Big Team Found, it’s Dunfermline Athletic v Falkirk, where Shaughan calls upon the power of Sammy the Tammy. But will it be enough to take down Telfer’s Bairns? Outside of the studio, we join members of the Dundee United squad as Fans Ask the Weirdest Things, but what exactly is a skunk ape? We then head to the border to ask What Happens Next? at Lowland League side Berwick Rangers following last season’s relegation from the SPFL.

In This is the News, they contemplate life without football, join the fight for survival for our leagues bottom clubs and debate how important title wins can be without playing every game, and even then should we just void the season? In Frankenballer, Dr. Telfer is amassing the best of the almost season to build his latest creation including a right footer from Cove, the shoulders of a Livi Lion, Kirkcaldy’s own master of The Matrix and the cerebral prowess of a Motherwell defender.
