The sweet dreams of Tomoko (Miho Nakayama) and Satoshi (Kunihiko Mitamura) are shattered when her mother-in-law Tatsu (Noriko Sengoku) and her three nieces suddenly barge in on them. Tomoko is so angry that she runs away from home...

Tomoko (Miho Nakayama) attends a party of her university tennis club. Tomoko calls Satoshi (Kunihiko Mitamura), but then Tomoko's ex-boyfriend Motoharu (Masatoshi Nagase) turns up.

Tomoko (Miho Nakayama) is pushed around by her children. Tomoko decides to go to work, but Satoshi (Kunihiko Mitamura), worried about her, looks in on her part-time job and sees the owner making a pass at Tomoko...

子供たちが夏休みに旅行したいと言い出した。友子（中山美穂）は6人で出かけるより聡（三田村邦彦）と2人で行きたいのが本音。秘かに沖縄旅行を申し込んでいたが・・・。

麻里（西尾まり）に好きな人ができた。その相手が広瀬家に来ることになるが、それは聡（三田村邦彦）の会社の専務の息子・正敏（石橋保）で・・・。

3姉妹とタツ（千石規子）が泊まりがけで墓参りに出かけ、友子（中山美穂）と聡（三田村邦彦）はようやく2人きりに。しかし、そんな時に限って邪魔が入り・・・。

ある日、食事をしている友子（中山美穂）の様子がおかしい。日頃食べないすっぱいものを平気で食べるし、つわりのような症状も見られる。病院へ行った友子だが・・・。

2学期が始まるが、友子（中山美穂）は父兄懇談会、家庭訪問と忙しい。そんな中、近所に住む青年実業家夫妻から麻里（西尾まり）を養女にしたいとの話が・・・。

最近、聡（三田村邦彦）の様子が少しおかしい。何故か落ちつきがないし、夜遅く帰った時の言い訳もわざとらしい。友子（中山美穂）は聡の浮気を心配するが・・・。

友子（中山美穂）とタツ（千石規子）は3人の姪に対する教育方針の違いで衝突ばかり。間に入って大変な聡（三田村邦彦）だが、友子にはどっちつかずの夫が歯がゆく・・・。
