Futaba Yoshioka and Kou Mabuchi gradually develop feelings for each other, and on the day of the school festival, they suddenly grow closer. Wanting to know Kou’s true feelings, Futaba decides to tell Kou how she feels. Then, a classmate, Yui Narumi, whom Kou met in Nagasaki when he was a transfer student during his junior high school days, appears in front of the two. Kou cannot leave Yui, who knows the same sadness, alone and embraces her in front of Futaba and Toma Kikuchi.

Toma’s straightforward words shake Futaba’s heart, and the distance between the two moves closer dramatically. Meanwhile, Kou recalls painful memories of his mother, Akari, and at the same time, he realizes once again his feelings for Futaba. Inspired by Aya Kominato, Kou decides to meet with Yui again to face his honest feelings and also to break off his sympathetic emotions. Futaba is puzzled by Kou’s invitation but decides to follow him as a friend. Kou tries to look forward to overcome his sadness as he walks through the streets of Nagasaki. Futaba’s heart surges as she tries to be close to Kou, but she begins to feel guilty about Toma. Later, when she honestly tells Toma about her and Kou sneaking out together during the school trip, Futaba promises to be more upfront with him. Unable to erase Kou from her heart, Futaba goes to Toma to break up with him. Kou, however, has no way of knowing Futaba’s decision and stops himself from contacting Futaba. Futaba and Kou continue passing each other… Then, Christmas night arrived. While their feelings are intertwined, Futaba visits the place where she has fond memories of Kou.
