Laurent and Gladys newly recruited by the law firm, have been asked to defend an auctioneer accused of embezzlement. Michèle is in charge of a sensitive case, that of a young woman with Down syndrome who had been sterilised by tubal ligation without her doctor having informed her beforehand.

Laurent is appointed to defend a prisoner accused of having raped another one. His client turns out to be an odious character who enjoys admitting the facts in front of his lawyer, with neither shame nor regret. Robert defends a woman taking legal action against the marriage bureau where she is registered. Caroline is working on a case of wrongful dismissal.

Michèle represents a woman whose baby died at birth. The plaintiff blames the clinic for being responsible for the death. Caroline defends the head of a pharmaceutical company accused of torturing animals, Robert represents an elderly and very wealthy lady accused by her son of squandering the family fortune. Gladys, who has realised that she doesn't have the wholehearted support of everyone in the firm, seeks to cover herself by seducing Laurent.

The law offices have been burgled and all the files stolen. But, under such conditions, how can they plead effectively? Each lawyer visits their own clients in search of evidence that might point to the person responsible. Is there a connection with one of their current cases?

Laurent and Gladys are caught in a comprising situation in a car park. Accused of public indecency, they are summonsed to appear at the magistrates' court. The situation is serious, both risk an official warning or even a suspension. More than enough to tarnish the firm's reputation. Caroline defends one of her exes, Hervé. Married with a six year-old daughter, in the midst of divorcing, his wife has accused him of sexually abusing their daughter.

Caroline defends a man accused of vandalising the bar where is fiancée worked, convinced she was having an affair with her boss. Caroline manages to get him off but the next day he returns to the bar and kills both his fiancée and his rival. Michèle, who thought she was infertile, discovers that she's pregnant... It won't be easy telling Antoine, especially as the couple had just broken up!
