Y Fets

New series. In this first episode of Y Fets, prominent Welsh international rugby player, Elinor Snowsill's sheepdog has been born with a defect to one of its forelegs. Will Kate succeed in saving the leg' Dafydd is out on some of the local farms treating a cow and a stubborn donkey. And back in the practice Iwan does an emergency caesarean on a dog, while Terry the ferret needs treatment for a sensitive little problem.

The nurses' work is essential in ensuring that the practice operates efficiently from day to day, and this week the team has to be extremely careful when handling a very dangerous dog that's been brought in for treatment for a very nasty growth. Phil and Iwan face several challenges as they help with calving on farms in the area and the practice experiences some effects of the war in Ukraine.

All sorts of animals visit the practice, including a goose and three musical dogs. Twti has been put on a strict diet and is not at all impressed, while Kate tries to repair a sheepdog¿s dislocated hip. It¿s also a very busy time for Dafydd as he works a twenty four hour shift.

This week Kate's theatre is busy treating bulldogs with breathing difficulties. Hannah's skills are also tested when she has to operate on two dogs with broken legs - sheepdog Robin and Pomeranian Meeko. The lambing season is in full swing, with the shed behind the practice full of lambs receiving treatments.

In this week's episode Macs the sheepdog needs urgent treatment following an accident on the farm. The owners of labrador, Nel, have a difficult decision to make and Phil endeavours to fix a lamb's broken leg. Follow their stories on Y Fets.
