It has officially happened. Star Wars... has gone from an event to a routine... As I warned you two years ago. Disney's mediocre but most innocuous "galaxy far, far away" movie, Han Solo, failed miserably at the box office. However, not only the desire to turn the franchise into an conveyor belt to pull the dough, but also the complete erasure of creative freedom, craftsmanship and artistic thought from there. Instead, they try to cram into the product (which is the only way to call it what it is) as many of the goodies as possible for the pseudo-leftist social fringe. Killing logic and meaning- the main thing is to make the non-formals happy- that is the main motto. And finally people's eyes began to open after the premiere of The Last Jedi. That's what we'll look at today...

A classic or a modern reinterpretation. Which is better? Lew Wallace's book about Ben-Hur, Messala, Judea, Rome, and of course Christ, became one of the most significant Christian works of the 19th century. The next time the main character's name was especially loud was with the release of the Oscar-winning cinematic classic of '59 in the 20th century. But the years passed. People's attitude toward history and religion changed. Nevertheless, Ben-Hur was not forgotten. And so the 21st century came. It seemed that it was time to cause a furor again. Bekmambetov took up the cause for some reason, no doubt in order to surpass his predecessor. So, a classic or a modern reinterpretation? Which is better? Let's try to figure it out...

Or the opposite is black and rotten? Are the adherents of the chunky-eared rodent on the right road? What do viewers think about it? Or should I say, feel? Enough generalities, let's try to figure it out...

It's New Year's Eve again and Bondarchuk again. Again Strugatsky and again "original author's approach". Again a movie adaptation and again an extremely difficult and time-consuming material to sort out (you decide whether this is worth two months of work). This time in front of us - "The Inhabited Island." One of the most famous and, according to some, a work of genius. "The diamond of Soviet fiction." "The very essence of all futuristic notions of the USSR." Is it so? How can such a thing be screened in post-Soviet Russia? Let's try to find out... by evaluating everything that had to be evaluated...
