This brand new series follows the working lives of two friends and passionate horse vets, Lisa Durham and Philippa Hughes. No two days are the same as they care for their four-legged clients from their clinic in Carmarthenshire, and this episode finds them facing an uncooperative wild Welsh mountain pony stallion who needs sedating before an operation, an elderly horse with a wobbly tooth and a champion mare with a badly gashed leg facing emergency treatment.

It’s a race against time for passionate horse vets Lisa Durham and Philippa Hughes as they battle to save the life of a thoroughbred with an infected leg. We meet a couple from Neath doing their bit to secure the future of working shire horses while Lisa helps a local charity dedicated to rescuing abandoned ponies. Philippa wrestles with some feisty foals from the Gower marshes before they head off to the sales.

Vets and horse owners brace themselves for foaling season which means sleepless nights and long days. Philippa helps a team of ponies from the Gower peninsula on their journey to high octane rally driving competitions around the globe. It’s a battle to help contain the spread of equine flu among the horsey community and a grey sports horse needs cosmetic surgery before he can return to his role gathering livestock on the hills of mid Wales.

Lisa is under pressure to succeed in helping to artificially inseminate a precious Arabian mare. Philippa has to create tiny plastic shoes to help one of her smallest, cutest patients – a Shetland pony foal – cure his bandy legs. And the clinic team works hard in the operating theatre to treat a deadly infection threatening the life of a much-loved family pet.
