Originally formed as Tyrant, Jag Panzer delivered one of the best American traditional metal albums in 1983 with Ample Destruction, only to be met with more obstacles than most after its release. One of the absolute must-listens when it comes to early American power metal, Omen is another band that should have been bigger. Led by founder and guitarist, Kenny Powell, Omen put out three essential albums in Battle Cry, Warning of Danger, and The Curse in the ’80s, followed by a couple of head-scratchers.
