When he returns two years later, he has a new plan: to steal the Imperial Ornament, a valuable art piece from the Hohenzollern heritage, on display in Copenhagen during a German cultural week and guarded by the bumbling policeman Mortensen. The theft succeeds, but on the way to the airport, the gang's car runs out of fuel and is towed by the police for illegal parking.

The film begins with a robbery at a savings bank – but someone else has already cleaned it out. The real robber escapes, and Egon is arrested. Upon his release, Egon has sworn off crime, inspired by the charming social worker Bodil Hansen (Ghita Nørby). She helps him find a job at a toy factory, where he tests rubber balls for quality on the assembly line. Kjeld joins him after being persuaded by Yvonne, and Benny also decides to go straight after a botched robbery with Harry. When Egon causes chaos at the factory, all three are fired and end up working as cleaners in a bank – where they inadvertently witness a robbery and are wrongly accused of the crime.

While in prison, Egon gets his hands on the plan of a coastal bunker built by the German Wehrmacht during the war, said to contain a hidden treasure. To retrieve it, the Olsen Gang heads to Jutland – in a stolen truck, because Yvonne insists on bringing most of her household on such a long journey. After a long search, they accidentally find the right bunker, but access to the treasure is only possible underwater or through a military restricted area. They team up with scrap dealer Mads Madsen (Karl Stegger), who provides them with a rundown car and an old diving suit in exchange for half the treasure. Meanwhile, another pair of crooks is also after the treasure, but without Egon’s detailed plan, they keep getting in each other’s way.

Egon sets his sights on a valuable target and executes a clever heist while the unsuspecting victim is distracted. However, things quickly take a turn when another gang interferes, and Egon ends up behind bars. Once released, he launches a bold new plan involving a heavily guarded armored transport. But as always, complications arise, and the Olsen Gang must outsmart more than just the police to come out on top.
Egon plans to rob a cinema, but the heist goes wrong when Harry shows up. After Egon's release, only Harry—who has quit drinking since the failed robbery—is waiting for him at the gate.

Egon plans to rob a cinema, but the heist goes wrong when Harry shows up. After Egon's release, only Harry—who has quit drinking since the failed robbery—is waiting for him at the gate. Benny and Kjeld want nothing more to do with them, as Benny plans to marry Ragna (Birgitte Federspiel), the not-so-attractive daughter of shopkeeper Kvist (Ejnar Federspiel), in order to take over his store. So Egon agrees to go along with one of Harry’s plans. But there's a surprise: the safe is in Kvist’s store—and it’s empty. When the noise wakes up Kvist, Egon is already gone, and only Benny and Kjeld are caught next to the open safe, so he has them arrested. Egon frees them with Børge’s help, and they eventually join his new plan, which involves millions stashed away by a certain Hallandsen, a big player on the black market.

Since the Olsen Gang arrived in Mallorca nearly penniless at the end of the previous film, Egon plans to rob "Piggy-Hansen," who makes good money hosting lavish feasts for Danish tourists. But just as he opens the safe, Yvonne introduces him to her vacation acquaintances—unfortunately, two police officers who immediately arrest him. After his release, Egon ignores Benny and Kjeld and starts working for the outwardly respectable businessman Holm-Hansen Jr. (Bjørn Watt-Boolsen), who tasks him with retrieving the internationally sought-after Bedford Diamonds from a Swiss vault. However, once the Swiss middleman has the diamonds in hand, he triggers the alarm and leaves Egon behind, who barely escapes arrest.

The planned peaceful life in Mallorca doesn’t come to pass – “The Dumb Pig” (Ove Verner Hansen) steals the millions for his client, the company Multi-Scan. When Egon tries to get it back, he is arrested – exactly as “The Dumb Pig” had planned. The Olsen Gang’s money is to be transported abroad as gold bars in a secure train car belonging to “Franz Jäger, Berlin.” While in prison, Egon memorizes the entire timetable of the Danish State Railways and plans to recover the loot.

Egon is hired by Baron Løvenvold (Bjørn Watt-Boolsen) to steal a valuable Chinese vase. The heist is carried out, but once again, Egon is double-crossed: the vase was a fake, and the Baron planned to collect the insurance money while secretly selling the real one. Egon is arrested. Since Børge is planning to get married (his girlfriend Fie is already pregnant), money is urgently needed. Yvonne takes legal guardianship of Egon to get him out of prison—something he’s not exactly thrilled about. Egon is now after the vase himself—but a break-in at the Baron's castle goes wrong when Egon, without his reading glasses, can't read his plan and falls into an old trap.

At the beginning, a heist by the Olsen Gang goes wrong when Egon forgets the number needed to open a mathematical lock. When he gets out of prison, he finds out that Benny and Kjeld have been convinced by Yvonne’s 32-year-old nephew Georg (Claus Ryskjær) to make him the new gang leader, thinking Egon is getting too old for the business. Georg has arrived from the USA, relies on the latest computer technology, and only allows Egon to assist with his next heist. Out of frustration, Egon sabotages the computer and reveals his own plan to Benny and Kjeld: the European Union wants to sell their butter mountains at inflated prices to poor countries, and Egon plans to steal the money brought in for the transaction. Although the heist succeeds, they lose the money when a certain Archibald Hansen interferes and simply copies Egon’s plans.

On the occasion of the Queen's birthday, Egon is granted a pardon – which he is not happy about, as a lawyer was supposed to be moved into Egon's cell the following week, from whom Egon hopes to get information. Left with no other choice, he sabotages Benny's first (brilliant) heist in order to get back behind bars. In fact, he comes up with a plan: he is supposed to steal a microfilm from the so-called Reich Registry for Bang-Johansen (Bjørn Watt-Boolsen). This microfilm contains the plans for "Operation Daisyland," which aims to turn Denmark into a theme park. However, due to a mix-up, he can't deliver the film as agreed and is confronted by the "Dumb Pig" on the clock face of the Copenhagen Town Hall tower, where he must either reveal the location of the film or be pushed off by the big hand.

Egon plans to rob an insurance company. What he didn’t know in time: the old boss has died, and the new one no longer works with cash, so the safe is empty. Benny and Kjeld escape, but Egon is arrested. In prison, he attends a leadership training course and decides to try his hand at the stock market after his release. A company offers to give him the majority shares of the renowned Copenhagen department store Magasin du Nord in exchange for a certain trading balance that Egon is supposed to acquire. However, Egon is set up – the department store is bankrupt and is being shut down. The search for the shares leads the Olsen Gang to the EG headquarters in Brussels. When the shares are found by the police due to sheer carelessness, Benny and Egon acquire a tank from the Danish army.

Egon doesn’t want to return to prison (since he risks being sent to the psychiatric ward there) and plans his irrevocably final heist – the theft of embezzled money from the safe of the insurance company Hoher Norden. The money is in the briefcase of the vice director, Hallandsen, who intends to take it on a business trip to Paris. This requires several attempts, as the company’s gatekeeper, the “Dumb Pig,” repeatedly manages to overpower Egon and return the briefcase. Eventually, the Olsen Gang succeeds in making off with the briefcase and Hallandsen’s trench coat at the airport.

After a brief recap of the previous film, the story continues. Initially, several attempts by the Olsen Gang to reclaim the briefcase with the documents in Denmark fail. For the first time, Yvonne actively participates in a heist, but she fails spectacularly, becoming so upset that she forbids Kjeld from working with Egon any further. However, the three must now travel to Paris to retrieve the briefcase, where they manage to get the sought-after documents after some difficulties (including Benny’s poor French). Back in Copenhagen, it turns out that Yvonne has moved in with her sister, and Egon is immediately arrested on the orders of the ringleader minister as a “threat to world peace.”

A red briefcase appears in Copenhagen. Inside are the highly sensitive Wandenberg documents, which pose a threat to the state order. Senior Secretary Hallandsen (Bjørn Watt-Boolsen) is tasked by the Minister of Justice with discreetly destroying the documents, but his assistant Holm-Hansen fails to take possession of the briefcase. In the evening, a talk show is broadcast from the Nordisk Film studio, with guest Egon Olsen, who has been living in a psychiatric hospital for 17 years. During a wander through the building, he finds his old suit in the wardrobe, puts it on, and escapes. Benny, who works illegally at a transport company, and Kjeld, who is in a wheelchair, saw the talk show and pick up Egon at the gate. All three have visibly aged, but of course, Egon has a plan: the British crown jewels.
