Ömer Ademoğlu is a muezzin in the mosque where his father Reşat works as an imam. Having lost his mother recently, Ömer continues to live with his father Reşat and grandmother Nezahat, with the pain of this loss in his heart. He is the youngest of three siblings. His sister Nisa, whom he knew by the mother, broke away from the family by making a marriage that his father and brother Tahir did not want, which deeply wounded Ömer's soul. Ömer finds the way to mend his soul, which has been hurt by the resentments, contradictions and losses experienced in his family, to which he is deeply attached... He continues to draw, despite his love and passion for painting since his childhood, and despite his family's obstacles. But his only love will not be painting, one day he will fall in love with Gamze, an older, widowed woman with children, and they will have great obstacles in maintaining this love...

Babasının beklenmedik tokadıyla sarsılan Ömer, bir yandan onun nasihatlerine uymaya çalışırken bir yandan da Gamze’ye karşı günden güne çoğalan duygularıyla mücadele etmektedir. Oğluyla birlikte yeni yaşamına uyum sağlamaya çalışan Gamze, hayatını devam ettirebilmek için annesinin şartlarını kabul etmek zorunda kalır. Ancak Ömer'e karşı hissettikleri, annesine verdiği sözü tutması önündeki en büyük engeldir. Ailesini bir arada tutmak için çabalayan Nisa, üst üste aldığı kötü haberlere karşı ayakta durmaya çalışırken, kimseye bir şey belli etmemeye çalışır. Fakat onu bekleyen zor günlerin farkındadır. Reşat Ömer’i tehlikeli gördüğü bu ilişkiden uzak tutmak için tüm gücüyle çabalarken, uygun bir gelin adayı ile tanıştırmanın hazırlığına girer. Ömer ve Gamze her şeye rağmen birbirlerinin gözlerinin içine bakmaya cesaret ettiklerinde onları bekleyen büyük bir sürprizden haberleri yoktur.
