We're all about tough old 4WDs, and in this issue we put our money where our mouths are! If there’s one track in Oz that’s at the top of every to-do list, then it’s the Old Telegraph Track in Cape York. Rutted, muddy and with water crossings over the bonnet, this iconic track is the pinnacle of Aussie 4WDing. This issue Graham and Shauno are tackling the Tele with Shorty and the Dirty 30 – and believe it or not, it’s Shauno’s first time! But that’s not even the best part about this DVD! In this issue of 4WD Action, Graham and Shauno visit Bulahdelah, and the locals are keen to show them their favourite tracks! These tracks make Coffs look like a walk in the park – we’re talking bog holes that’d swallow a tank, ruts that any 4WD is guaranteed to lift a wheel on, and clay mud so slippery it’s like ice! Broken axles, mental recoveries, ruts and rock steps that would swallow the dirty 30 – and that was just in the first hour! Does it get any tougher than this weekender? There’s every chance that you’ve never heard about Yalwal because it doesn’t seem to get the same attention that places like Coffs Harbour and the Glass House Mountains do for tough 4WD tracks. It certainly flies under the radar compared to other places in Australia, but as we found out in our last DVD trip, this place is home to some of the more gnarly tracks in the country, and just to make it a little bit tougher, we attempted some of the toughest tracks in the region at night!

Cape York is unarguably the number one 4WDing hotspot in Oz, and for good reason – with cracking tracks like the Tele that are accessible to everyone, the Cape is the perfect adventure location. For those willing to dig a little deeper however, the Cape takes adventure to a whole new level of gnarly, and the perfect example is the Old Coach Road between Maytown and Laura. This track is a brutal challenge, regardless of whether you’re running a 4WD with a 2in lift and 31s or a twin locked beast on 35s! From rock steps the size of a car, to ruts that’ll test the flex of even the most articulate trucks, this track is the ultimate Cape York challenge! Have Shauno and Graham bitten off more than they can chew? The answer is a definite yes! With insane recoveries, breakages that have them calling for a flatbed from Cairns and more wheel lifts than you’ve ever seen before, this is off-road adventure at its very best!

Welcome to Commando – one of the most insane, epic 4WD challenges anywhere in the country! Shauno first attempted Commando over five years ago, back when the 60 was a wagon. If you ask us, there’s no challenge quite as big as the Vic High Country in late winter. The rivers are running, there’s snow on the peaks, and even an inch of rain turns incredibly steep clay and rock hill climbs into a dangerous, boggy mess. For Graham and Shauno, this was one challenge they couldn’t resist! On this insane second instalment of their Vic High Country adventure, the boys search for Australia’s steepest, gnarliest track, and they didn’t have to search for long to find it. When we mean steep, we’re talking mental climbs on rocky, rutted, wet tracks to crowd-free mountain top campsites. 4WD adventures don’t get more gruelling or scenic than this!

The Old Tele Track is the most iconic 4WD track in Oz, but that doesn’t mean that your Cape York adventure finishes at the Jardine! In this episode of 4WD Action, Graham and Shaun prove that there’s a whole lot more to the Cape than just the Tele Track. They’ve found the most insane tracks north of the Jardine Ferry – from mud, ruts, gnarly hill climbs and some of the softest and most pristine beaches in the country, these are the tracks and campsites that only the locals know about! From tough 4WDing, some of the best fishing anywhere and a couple of the most stunning campsites in Queensland, this is the secret Cape York hotspot that we guarantee you won’t wanna miss!

Five years ago in one of Graham’s first ever DVDs with 4WD Action he attempted to drive from Home Valley in the east Kimberley north to Kalumburu via one of the most remote tracks in Australia. It was early in the season after a late wet and that track almost beat them. They only made it a tenth of the way and had to bail on the track at Oombulgurri and catch the ferry out. Five years in the making, Graham, Shauno, Rod, Ronny and Col head back to the Kimberley to make it all the way. By hell or high water they are determined to finish what they started in what is one of the most remote and unforgiving landscapes in the country. You make a mistake out here or breakdown and you may as well say goodbye to your 4WD because help is at least a week away. The boys will have to travel over 700km in low range across some of the toughest terrains the Top End can throw at them. Will they make it or will they have to bail out again? Nothing describes Australia quite like the Kimberley, an ancient land in the northernmost point of Western Australia. Bordering the Timor Sea, the Great Sandy, and Tanami Deserts, The Kimberley is one of the earliest settled parts of Australia, with the first arrivals landing about 41,000 years ago (back when it was originally part of Indonesia).

In this episode of 4WD Action DVD, we travel from Oombulgurri – one of the most remote communities on earth, to McGowans Island, which is even further into the unknown. And we do it via the infamous Carson River Track! This is the Kimberley like you’ve never seen before. Forgotten for years, re-opened by us - 50km in 4 days! Imagine being handed the keys to a track by the traditional owners, and being told "See if you blokes can make it through!". That's the challenge we're up against on this issue of 4WD Action, as we attempt to re-open the track from Coen to Stoney Creek on the Cape's wild east coast. The traditional owners said that they hoped we packed plenty of recovery gear because it was going to get one heck of a workout! In fact, they weren't even sure that we'd make it to the coast at all - the track was that tough. To make things harder, Shauno's also towing a trailer with Ray's turbocharged 1000 cc buggy, because something tells us they're gonna need it! If it's the toughest Cape York adventure that you want to see, on a track that hasn't ever been filmed, park yourself in your favourite chair and get the winch out, because things are about to get wild in true 4WD Action style!

We went down the West Coast of Tasmania to tackle one of the hardest tracks Tassie has to offer - Thousand Buck Track. They reckon most vehicles will do at least $1000 worth of damage when tackling this track. With Fallen trees, bog holes and massive rutts, this was one unforgettable adventure that pushed everyone on the team to their absolute limits!!

We hope you've got your recovery kit ready because in this episode, Shaun , Graham and the boys bite off more than they can chew when they tackle some of NSW's muddiest, most fun tracks. Along for the ride we've got big GUs and GQs on 35s and a twin-locked V8 Cruiser, but even those are no match for the slipperiest, steepest tracks of the Great Divide.
