Étienne Ronsard, chirurgien, se retrouve après le décès de son fils, Major de la Crime à Colmar, face à son petit-fils qu'il ne connaît pas. Et pour cause, le père et le fils ne se voyaient plus depuis de nombreuses années. Pour Étienne, pas question de laisser cet enfant dans le tourment de l'image d'un père que l'on accuse d'être un drogué qui a perdu le contrôle de son véhicule, et entraîné dans la mort son coéquipier. Ce grand-père veut donner à cet enfant la plus belle image de son père, lui qui n'a pas su, au moment où il le fallait, accepter le choix de vie de son fils. Maintenant, à lui de prouver que le Major Gilles Ronsard était un homme exemplaire.

At the museum of La Piscine de Roubaix, the exhibition dedicated to the famous Lille sculptor Victor Maurin, is set up. These days, visitors to the small village of Teahupoo in Tahiti aren't just surfers seeking the thrill of dangerous waves. There's also a murderer, whose MO is inspired by mythical island rituals. When the mutilated body of a man is found at the sacred temple of Polynesian god Oro, local police lieutenant Maeva Umana, a young Tahitian desperate to hide her family pedigree, and veteran captain Philippe Toussaint, newly transferred to the island, are sent to the site.
