We are heading into the Amazon to explore the rainforest and see how human beings have changed the shape and size of the Amazon rainforest. I am very excited about what the day will bring.

“It is fascinating to see how they are trying to preserve their land. I think there are lots of lessons and experiences to be learned from this - like living with nature. It would be a shame if that knowledge were to be lost.

We have been having a quite eventful day...spending time on the river to get from one village to the next. It´s been really inspiring to see how friendly and welcoming the villagers were to us.

It was an overwhelming experience to be immersed in the Amazon rainforest. From meeting the chiefs to eating lunch together, jumping into the Xingu River, seeing caimans and falling asleep surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest. .

I feel very honoured and privileged to have had the opportunity to meet the leaders of the various communities and speak and hear from them about the challenges that they are facing day in and day out, what they think of their future and what kind of support and awareness they need to reach people outside the village
