World's Worst Holiday Horrors

Documentary in which tourists recall dream getaways that have turned into nightmares. The first edition includes footage of a pleasure cruise on Liverpool's waterfront that ended in disaster, a sky-diving holiday-maker who lost an arm, and a Dutch couple trapped on an Italian beach when a huge wildfire cut off their escape route. Plus, a snowboarder who became trapped upside down in an ice tomb and a group of friends caught beneath a flash flood in Utah.

A fire on a cruise liner in the Gulf of Mexico causes a power failure that leaves thousands of passengers stranded on board with food and water in short supply, and backed-up toilets lead to sewage running down the corridors. Other holiday horrors caught on camera include a group of friends crash-landing miles from anywhere in the wilds of north-west America, and a couple looking on helplessly as their six-year-old son slams into a building while parasailing for the first time.

A couple from Northampton take their four-year-old son on a weekend trip to London, but face every parent's worst nightmare when their amphibious tour vehicle catches fire. A lone snowboarder falls into a deep tree well in California and is buried alive, a raging wildfire surrounds a group of men on a week-long hunting trip in Montana, while in Thailand, a Swedish couple run for their lives to escape the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. Plus, a British backpacker plummets to earth after a 300-metre base jump goes wrong and a spearfisher in Florida has a close encounter with a shark.
