Woolly and Tig

Tig goes on a holiday to another country. When she arrives it is very hot and everything is new and different. Woolly helps her adjust and to embrace all the excitement and differences that a holiday has to offer including new foods and a different language.

Tig discovers what Hallowe'en is at her first Hallowe'en Party.

Tig has had a wonderful year of summer, her birthday, snowballs and Christmas. After Christmas, Tig goes to stay with Granny. One morning Mummy says it's Hogmanay, the least day of the year. Tig is sad there are no more days of the year left but Woolly explains that tomorrow will be the first day of a brand-new year when Tig can have summer and snowballs and Christmas all over again. Tig discovers the fun of Hogmanay and Woolly helps her make wishes for a brand-new year. When Tig wakes on the night of Hogmanay, she joins Granny and her friends to see the New Year arrive and all her wishes come true.

Tig loves going to see plays. Tig wants to be in a play herself and to dress up. Tig's friend Tam is doing a musical play of The Elves and the Shoemaker, and he asks Tig to be an elf. On the day of the show Tig refuses to go on stage. She doesn't recognise Tam dressed as the shoemaker. Woolly explains how costumes and make up can make every one look different. Tig happily joins the performance and as an elf helps the shoemaker make his shoes.

Tig is excited to be going to a new big school but has a few small worries too - finding the toilet, putting shoes on the wrong way round and even losing Woolly. Woolly helps Tig share and tell her worries so that she is free to enjoy her fun-filled days.

Tig watches the last harvest in a field of oats before sitting down for supper at Duncan's farm.

Tig visits her grandad for Christmas. She is restless, so Woolly sings her to sleep.
