When Danny Doornbos signs a contract with FC Heros, the lives of the eight main characters are turned completely upside down. Together with his girlfriend Renske, he moves to Amsterdam. As a new players’ wife, Renske struggles to find her place. She soon receives help from Solange, who knows perfectly how to handle the press and deal with pushy female fans. Danny’s arrival also demotes Italo from star striker to backup forward. Club icon Jeffrey is even told he would be better off looking for another team—a nightmare for his media-hungry wife, Melanie. Liz also faces the downsides of Danny’s appointment: she sees her dream go up in smoke.

Arjan has committed suicide. The funeral is a unique experience: Italo is the only absent Heros player, and Jamie reveals that she is the coach’s daughter. The women are concerned about Liz and take turns visiting her to distract her from her thoughts. But Liz is not the only one in need of support: Solange has left Italo. The new coach creates tension within the team, threatening the careers of Jeffrey, Italo, and Danny. The footballers’ wives do everything they can to prevent this.
