Three Hungry Boys

In this programme, the boys take a mussel foraging trip on the Isle of Mull. Some lateral thinking and hard work yields produce they can use to charm their way onto a yacht at the local regatta. They also challenge a local chef to a cook-off using limpets.

The boys resort to manual labour in exchange for a boat trip to Fingal's Cave for some wild swimming with a basking shark, and they go canyoning down a river on the Isle of Mull.

Halfway through their trip, Trevor, Thom and Tim reach the isle of Tiree, where they head straight for the surf. But when the weather turns bad, they need to find food and shelter fast. A new friend takes them fishing and Tim hooks more than he bargained for.

The boys up the stakes in their survival challenge as they look to dine off more sumptuous fare. Having spent three days surfing and fishing on the Isle of Tiree the lads take their money-less mission to the next level as they set their sights on roast goose. Wild Greylag geese flock to the isle in their thousands and, with no serious predators to keep numbers in check, they cause substantial damage to local crops. Gamekeeper Peter agrees to take the boys on a wild goose chase so while Tim and Trevor handle the dogs, Thom grabs his gun. "We're going to eat tonight," grins the happy hunter.

After three weeks on the Scottish west coast without spending any money, Trevor, Thom and Tim head to a farmers market to convert their foraged goods into unforgettable goodies. They also manage to talk their way into a distillery for a wee drink, and pay a visit to the Highland Games.

The hungry boys snag some work on a highland estate and their chores quickly turn into a competition between the three of them, with the reward of a day of fly-fishing.

The rain is beating down up North as three of England's cheekiest chaps near the end of their month long jolly. The band of blaggers have been living it up for free in their camper van, Winnie, and apart from in the loo, they haven't spent a penny. Now they're heading north in search of more adventure. After Thom's hit-and-miss mushroom foraging forays, the hungry boys are after some guaranteed safe mushrooms. They're also trying out their home-brewed beer and Trevor wants to play away from home, abandoning Winnie for a night in the wilderness.

Trevor, Thom and Tim head back to Oban for an underwater foraging expedition. And to mark the successful completion of their challenge, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall helps them celebrate with a tasty surprise.
