Gold Rush Alaska

With the recession undermining their lives in Oregon, six men decide to journey to Alaska to dig for gold and save themselves from possible economic hardships.

The stakes grow as the men at the Porcupine Creek site realize time is of the essence.

The men move quickly to get the mining plant up and running. The crew's families arrive in the area and questions about the site's viability start to crop up almost immediately.

The team finally tries to send some gold with a large payout through the wash plant. However, when the Department of Fish and Game investigate the area, they find that the water supply to the mine is in violation of enviornmental laws. Later, a disaster finds Todd's daughter fighting to stay alive.

The miners quest to look for gold is put to a stop when an equipment malfunction stops the operation. Later, James Harness collapses on the job. Jimmy Dorsey ends up making several men mad when he takes on a second job to earn more money. Finally, hard work that lasts into the early morning hours finally brings the crew good fortune.

When the miners arrive at Porcupine Creek, they realize their futures are on the line. After 80 days, the miners find that they are behind schedule and the Hoffmans are broke. A message is given to the crew to find $10,000 worth of gold in two days or their families will have to return to their homes in Oregon. Finally, Dorsey has troubles with the wave table which causes tensions and fists to start flying.

As winter approaches, a gold recovery expert arrives to help the rookies find gold. Later, Todd finds a design flaw with their equipment and has to make huge changes so it will work. Finally, the credit cards are maxed out and Todd has to find new ways of making money.

The crew remains without a dime in pocket. While veteran miner "Dakota" Fred thinks he can find gold faster. So he cranks up production faster than ever before; But when things start to break, tempers flare.

With the rush to get to bedrock where hopefully large sums of gold waits. The team goes for broke and digs deeper than ever before. With the Alaskan winter setting in, and machine breakdowns; finding gold isn't going to be easy.

With the freezing arctic winter just around the corner. Everyone is rushing to collect as much gold as possible before the freeze up.The glory hole caves in around the excavator, and jack risks his life to try and save it.

Although the mining season is over the Hoffman mining crew is making plans for next years mining season. The crew also reveals their feelings on some of the biggest incidents and things that happened behind the scenes.
