Pacific Missile Range Facility
The Pacific Missile Range Facility, (PMRF), is the world's largest instrumented multi-environment range capable of supporting surface, subsurface, air, and space operations. A thousand square miles of instrumented underwater range and over 42,000 square miles of controlled airspace make PMRF a premier facility for supporting operations which vary from small, single-unit exercises up to large, multiple-unit battle group scenarios.
The mission of the Pacific Missile Range Facility is to provide major range services to facilitate training, tactics development, and evaluation for air, surface, and subsurface weapon systems for PACFLT, other DoD agencies, and foreign military forces; and to maintain and operate facilities and provide services and materials to support operations of aviation activities and units of the operating force of the Navy, and other activities and units designated by the Chief of Naval Operations.
