Julie loves her best friend Trine; they do everything together. But Trine has begun to take an interest in a little more adult stuff than Julie, and when it starts a new girl in their class, Julie slowly starts to get frozen out from everything and everyone - including Mikkel, whom Julie is in love with. At the same time Julie has a lot of problems at home. Her parents have separated after her father has worked abroad for several years. One day he returns and tries to reconnect with Julie and her mother again. It isn't easy. Julie is angry at him for leaving her and her mother.
All at once, Julie has to win back her best friend, overcome her own anger towards the father, and get him back together with the mother.

Julie's father has returned because Julie's grandfather has become very ill. Julie finds it hard to forgive her father for sliding away from her and her mother when Julie was little. At the same time Trine, Julie's best friend, has brought Julie along to Tivoli with someone named Eddie, without their parents permission. The whole trip turns into a fiasco - the girls get caught and it ends with Trine being placed under house arrest by her father Jimmi. The new girl, Lulu, convinces Trine that everything is Julie's fault - and that she can't accept it. Meanwhile, Julie meets with her great love Mikkel, and while they are having fun, Julie gets an unpleasant call from her mother.

Julie's grandfather has been buried and Julie's father wants to give Julie some of the things that her grandfather has left behind. Julie isn't very interested in visiting her father - it is a long time since they spoke and Julie thinks that her mother and father is acting strange towards each other, even though they aren't together anymore. But the day goes different than expected. Things are not going well in school, since the new girl Lulu has started in their class. Julie slowly gets frozen out from everything and everyone, including Mikkel, whom she is in love with. And it gets completely bad when the boy Trine, Julie's best friend, is in love with, kisses Julie on a party. Lulu takes advantage of that to get Trine as her best friend - and Julie down with her neck.

Julie is completely alone and the class' new victim of bullying. The long-planned school trip is approaching. Julie doesn't want to go, but her mother convinces her to not give in to the bullying and tag along. Julie says goodbye to her father, whom is going to travel again. On the school trip, Trine and Lulu sails out in a rowing boat while Julie watches from land. Trine falls overboard and is about to drown. Will Julie save Trine? - and will Julie ever see her father again?
