Retiring - that could actually be something nice. But Paul Dietze - Wilsberg's friend - has nothing to celebrate. The tedious savings are gone. The allegedly lucrative retirement savings that the "wealth adviser" Uli Pape talked to him at that time has turned out to be a total failure. Paul and his wife Elfie are left with nothing. Doch genau das fordert Fabian Barkland, Mehrheitseigner des gleichnamigen Traditionsbetriebes in der Pumpernickel-Herstellung, von dem Münsteraner Privatdetektiv. Als Betriebsrat hat Mitarbeiter Tobias Nagel jedes Recht, für die Arbeitnehmerinteressen einzutreten. Doch damit ruft er Firmen-Anwalt Hartmut Niehoff auf den Plan, der für Fabian Barkland den unliebsamen Betriebsrat loswerden soll. Auch Ekkis Cousine, Steffi Geller, rückt in Niehoffs Schusslinie.
