Haruka Hani is a silly, ditzy second-year Hinomori Academy junior high school student who longs to be a princess. When mysterious 'sin-beasts' attack the city, legendary war princesses called Heart Princesses protect it. Haruka and her friend go to scout out a location for the musical when suddenly the Zaiju Aprestia appears in front of them. "Benevolence is the maiden's way! The pink peony of love, Pink Princess!"

In the midst of her cloudy mind, memories of her journey to reach Hinomori City resurface. The dangerous routes under attack by opposition were harsh for young immigrant children. The Eastern Immigrant Association came to Hinomori City, the last peaceful place in a dying world.
Pink Princess joins forces with Gold, Purple, and Green Princess and defeats the Zaiju Aprestia after a fierce battle.
The Princesses are delighted than Pink Princess's first battle ended in victory. However, behind the battle are the Zaiju-summoners called the earth wolves, and they're baring their fangs in vengeance.

Ami Gido, a second-year student at Hinomori Academy junior high school, is the daughter of the owners of a Chinese restaurant in the downtown area. Since she was a little girl, she's watched her parents struggle to run the restaurant, and spends her days helping them.
Unbeknownst to her, Haruka and Tamaki come into the store to prepare for the musical at the school cultural festival. A coincidence occurs when Haruka and Ami find themselves humming the same song.
"This was totally destined!" Haruka is so impressed that she enthusiastically invites Ami to the musical, but Ami stubbornly refuses, saying that she has to help out with the shop. However, Ami has another problem that she can't tell anyone about.....

Three second-year high school students, Kanade Chidori, Makoto Yoshitada, and Megumi Dainshin, are frustrated. Maybe the moon cats, who chose them to be the Purple, Green, and Gold Heart Princesses, are hiding some big secret.
Meanwhile, Fusanosuke Hoegami and the other four earth wolves, who are hiding out at the school in human form, are also confused.
They wonder if they should continue to follow the intentions of the mysterious "masked man" who lends them his power.
Meanwhile, a new teacher, Kanamori, transfers into the school.

Fusanosuke might be an earth wolf. Tamaki can't shake her suspicions.
Even while practicing for the musical, she can't concentrate and keeps thinking about it.
At night, when Tamaki is having trouble studying, the moon cat Tei appears.
Tei urges Tamaki to awaken as Black Princess, but Tamaki, who can't trust anyone, refuses Tei's request.
Tei and the masked man come up with a plan and summon Fusanosuke and Tamaki to an abandoned movie theater.
There, Fusanosuke tells them the "truth of this world", about the moon cats and earth wolves, about the existence of something called "Hinokami", and about why the Princesses must fight. He talks about this.
Tamaki listens to Fusanosuke in disbelief.
Then, Tei, frustrated, forces Tamaki to turn into Black Princess.
Afterwards, the masked man uses 'Tsumitoga no Kakera' to turn Tamaki into a Zaiju.
"I don't believe in earth wolves, moon cats, or humans...!" Tamaki struggles with her heart.
