In Bordeaux, Antoine Mongeville, a former investigating judge, meets Axelle Ferrano, an investigator for the judicial police. While the former magistrate seems to be interested in the disappearances of young women, Axelle, for his part, tries to understand the inexplicable suicide of a business leader. During their investigations, Antoine and Axelle are forced to collaborate. Father Mazard, former director of the St Louis boarding school, closed for thirty years, was found dead in the establishment. Lieutenant Axelle Ferrano, of the SRPJ of Bordeaux, seeks the help of Judge Mongeville, who has evidence on an obscure case dating back to the late 1970s: a student of St Louis had been suspected of having voluntarily caused the drowning of one of his classmates in the Garonne. Mongeville attended the funeral of his friend Judge Delvaux, victim before his eyes of a car bomb attack. Axelle identifies a suspect. Formerly sentenced by Delvaux and Mongeville to 12 years in prison for the murder of his wife, Arnaud Huchet has just been released from prison, determined to take revenge. Is Mongeville threatened? He begins to doubt. What if, after all, Huchet had been innocent? He decides to go and explain himself with him. But it is already too late. Huchet was in turn assassinated.
