The body of Achim Hiller, head of Hilgro Wind AG, is found on a derelict shipyard site. While König and Bukow take up the investigation, a confused man is noticed in Rostock: He claims to have shot someone, but cannot remember who he is or what he has done in the last few hours. His hand shows gunshot marks - and he is identified as an IT employee of Hilgro Wind. Bukow and König are faced with a mystery. Did the man kill his boss or is there much more behind Achim Hiller's death? (Text: ARD)

Ein junger Mann, Daniel Reef, hängt in einem Baum – offensichtlich ein Pilot, der aus seiner Maschine gefallen ist. Aber von dem Flugzeug fehlt jede Spur. Das Handy des Mannes zeigt eine junge Frau, die mitgeflogen sein muss. Lenski und Krause sind alarmiert: Ist das Flugzeug noch in der Luft?
Krause nimmt der Fall sehr mit, da er die Familie Reef gut kennt und ein enges Verhältnis zu Daniel hatte. Dessen Vater Martin Reef betreibt gemeinsam mit seinem Freund und Geschäftspartner Peter Tender seit Jahren eine Solarmodulfabrik. Durch ihren unternehmerischen Mut haben die beiden viele Arbeitsplätze in der Uckermark geschaffen. Doch inzwischen schreibt die Firma tiefrote Zahlen.
Daniel überlebt, liegt aber noch im Koma. Inzwischen ist auch klar, wer die junge Frau auf dem Handyfoto ist. Anjela Krol hat den Absturz nahezu unbeschadet überlebt, was an ein Wunder grenzt. Normalerweise wäre der Fall jetzt abgeschlossen. Doch dann finden die Ermittler im Flugzeugwrack eine Tasche mit 750.000 Euro in bar. Und es stellt sich heraus, dass der Gurt des Piloten offenbar manipuliert wurde. Nun spricht alles für einen Mordversuch.
Die Ermittlungen laufen mit Hochdruck, denn Krause will in seiner letzten Dienstwoche vor der Rente keinen ungeklärten Fall zurücklassen. Und von einer Abschiedsfeier will er auch nichts wissen.

Kriminalhauptkommissar Hanns von Meuffels wird ins Münchner Umland zu einem bizarr inszenierten Tatort gerufen: Zwei eilig aufgehäufte Gräber auf einer Waldlichtung. Die Eigentümerin einer lokalen Möbelmanufaktur wurde gemeinsam mit ihrem Schoßhündchen ermordet.
Der Ex-Ehemann des Opfers, Peter Brauer, gerät schon bald in den Fokus der Ermittlungen. Seit er die Firma verlassen hat, ging es mit dem einstmalig florierenden Mittelstandsunternehmen stetig bergab. Allerdings auch mit ihm. Bei ihrer Belegschaft war die Fabrikantin nicht sonderlich beliebt – nicht erst seit bekannt wurde, dass sie die Firma an ausländische Investoren veräußern wollte.
Diesmal hat von Meuffels die erfahrene Kollegin Constanze Hermann als Partnerin an seiner Seite, die nach einem privaten Desaster und längerer Auszeit ihren Wiedereinstieg in den Berufsalltag versucht. Die beiden kommen nur schleppend voran: Alle in Frage kommenden Personen haben einwandfreie Alibis, die nur spärlichen Verdachtsmomente können sich bei näherer Betrachtung nicht erhärten, und die Beweislage stellt sich insgesamt als unzureichend dar. Die beiden Kommissare drehen sich im Kreis.

An arson attack on a company in Magdeburg kills the wife of the junior manager. Only a few hours later, the body of an accountant is discovered in a hotel in Rostock. At the beginning of the investigation, the detectives in Magdeburg and Rostock have no idea that there is a connection between the two crimes and that they are about to solve a complicated case whose origins go back to the time of the political and economic upheavals in East Germany in the early 1990s. In their investigations, the commissioners from Magdeburg and Rostock are confronted with unscrupulous perpetrators who do everything to ensure that their criminal machinations from the past remain just as hidden as their dubious and lucrative business dealings in the present.

An arson attack on a company in Magdeburg kills the wife of the junior manager. Only a few hours later, the body of an accountant is discovered in a hotel in Rostock.
