Maddie is ready to go puddle jumping, she’s got her wellies and her mac, but discovers all the puddles have gone!
We find out what happens to the puddles when the rain stops, and the sun comes back -It’s called evaporation. Maddie takes us on a journey into the clouds and learns when water heats up, the liquid water turns into a gas called water vapour. We see that water vapour is light, so it rises up high into the sky – taller than a skyscraper!

Maddie is exploring why some materials sink when others just stay on the top floating round - what makes things sink or float? She tries lots of different objects and asks - Will it sink or float? We see Maddie at the beach with armbands and a rubber ring, they all float because they are full of air! Maddie tries something heavy, like a big old key, it sinks. We learn if it an object floats, we call it buoyant but if not, it will sink – bye, bye! Maddie encourages the audience to try out themselves what objects might float and sink

Maddie is finding out about metal and all the things it can do. We learn it’s a strong material and there are lots of different types. We discover that to get it you have to dig down, deep into the ground where metal is found.
Find out what common metals are used for - like aluminium for making aeroplanes, copper for electricity, iron to make pans, steel for bridges and gold for making jewellery. Maddie shows that if we look around, we find metal everywhere!

We learn sound is a vibration it is something that shivers, quivers, shudders, judders, wibbles, wobbles – it vibrates! A vibration is invisible, but Maddie tells us how we can feel sound vibrations in our throats when we sing, or see them on a drum when it bangs.
