Nach Monaten voller harter Arbeit können die Reimanns endlich ihren eigenen Pool fertigstellen. Die beiden denken allerdings gar nicht daran, sich nun auf die faule Haut zu legen – denn ein Roadtrip quer durch die USA steht auf dem Plan. Innerhalb von vier Wochen wollen Konny und Manu mit dem Wohnmobil durch 17 Bundesstaaten reisen und brechen dafür in die Stadt Portland an der Ostküste auf. Dort angekommen wartet auch schon die erste große Überraschung auf sie.

Manu und Konny träumen schon lange davon, einmal in jedem US-Bundesstaat gewesen zu sein – und sie arbeiten hart daran: Mit dem Wohnmobil geht es einmal quer durchs Land. Von Ost nach West, von Portland in Maine nach Seattle in Washington. Über 8.000 Kilometer durch 17 Staaten in nur 4 Wochen. Was die beiden in dieser aufregenden Zeit wohl alles erwartet?

Nach über der Hälfte ihrer USA-Reise im Wohnmobil landen Konny und Manu auf einer Ranch im wilden Westen. Hier soll heute ein Viehtrieb stattfinden und die beiden Abenteurer dürfen dabei sein. Ein Kindheitstraum für Konny – doch genau hier hat Deutschlands bekanntester Cowboy ein Hutproblem. Auf dem Weg weiter an den Pazifik kommen sie auf der Suche nach einem lauschigen Schlafplatz vom Weg ab und enden in der Wildnis. Doch ausgerechnet hier öffnet sich das Tor zum Paradies.

Es ist der Tag vor Konnys Geburtstag und der vorletzte Tag ihrer USA-Reise. Nach all den Abenteuern freut sich Konny nun auf Zuhause. Eigentlich legt er nicht viel Wert auf eine Feier zu seinen Ehren, doch Manu hat ihm verraten, dass sie eine spektakuläre Überraschung für ihn hat. Was den Heimwerkerkönig wohl erwartet? Außerdem wollen ihre beiden Freunde Esther und Jens ihr Ehegelübde auf Hawaii erneuern und Konny soll als stattlich anerkannter Trauredner die Zeremonie abhalten.

Storm in Hawaii - huge trees threaten to fall on the house during the next big tropical storm. Before Manu and Konny can go in search of their Roadmobile, this danger must be eliminated. Konny goes tree felling, while Manu devotes herself to her children's clothing collection. But it's not just the chainsaw that's dangerous, there's also trouble at Reimann's beach house. Burglars and rioters are making life difficult for them. Will everything go well?

Because they can't find a suitable school bus in Hawaii that Konny can convert into a motorhome, the Reimanns decide to fly to Texas. Before they set off, they first visit a large rum distillery in Hawaii, and Manu overcomes her phobia of waves to go whale watching. Freshly arrived in Texas, they visit her son Jason and her grandsons before taking a look at the first bus - albeit in a disastrous state. The search continues.

Konny hasn't yet found what he's looking for on his bus search in Texas. Will the next visit be the desired hit or was the trip to Texas in vain? Then it's back to Hawaii, but Manu is already mentally planning her dream route, which she wants to travel by bus. But things turn out differently. Konny notices that the roof of her house is once again very dilapidated in some places - requiring immediate action.

Konny's craftsmanship is in demand. The dilapidated roof is just the beginning of a whole series of major construction sites: The wooden stairs need to be replaced, the guest toilet needs a new toilet ... and then there's the bad news from Texas. The bus has problems with the registration. The return trip to Texas is delayed. Will their dream of owning their own roadmobile come true?

Still no good news from Texas: the new bus that Konny wants to bring to Hawaii is still not registered. Without further ado, the Reimanns make a detour to Germany to buy a few useful things for the bus conversion from a motorhome dealer friend. The shopping trip gets them really excited about the first tour with their bus. When will it finally start? And then the phone rings. Is it the longed-for call from Texas?
