This video is part 1 of my make of the chest from the 1974 version of Mechagodzilla, also known in the states as the Bionic Monster and the Cosmic Monster. This has always been my favorite version of MG, and probably my favorite Toho monster! I show step by step the methods and problems I had with creating a form fitting chest piece, then cover it with foam to replicate a kaiju chest- all to add to a wearable suit that is made from EVA foam.

In this video we make alterations to the RX-78-2 Gundam cosplay to get it ready for con season! These improvements included: updated the look of the visor, greater helmet ventilation including installation of a cooling fan, rebuild of the knee joints, shortening of the forearms, and suspension of the lower half of the costume from the shoulders via harness for greater articulation. The costume was then expertly weathered with a variety of airbrush and handpainting techniques.
