Not Quite Dead

Alfie’s been going through some… changes. Things haven’t worked out the way he'd expected. He didn't expect them to work out at all. Turns out this is the kind of thing he should have worried about in advance...

Alfie's got more to worry about than just a lack of access to blood, it turns out...

As Alfie continues to struggle to adapt to his new life, he remembers a story Casper once told him, and wonders why Neige would stick around at all.

A change of scenary is helpful, though not everything that Alfie needs as he continues to wrestle with the realities of his new life. 

Alfie discusses loss and grief and his worries about his family now he's gone, in between filling us in on what has happened since we last heard from him.

We hear from Neige, in the form of a strange and long-winded apology.

Alfie ponders the fairness of the limits Neige puts upon both his curiosity and their dynamic, questioning his role in the decisions which have led him to this point.

Alfie is not coping well in the aftermath of his accident. Neige does his best to support him, but isn’t necessarily equipped for the situation…

Alfie ignores Neige's advice and begins to question the mechanics of vampirism. At every turn, he uncovers more he wishes Casper had thought to share with him, and becomes less certain of what any of their time together meant.

Neige takes Alfie on a field trip and teaches him some important basics of life as a vampire. Alfie finally learns a little more about the context of Cas and Neige's friendship, and sees a part of Neige he never expected to.

Alfie and Neige discuss their differing priorities and perspectives as they attempt to find a way to move forward from recent revelations.

Alfie has a chance to collect his evolving thoughts and performs some investigations, some more invasive than others.

Neige takes Alfie hunting in York. Things do not go to plan, to a spectacular and devastating degree.
