The episode begins with an ordinary morning at the Majewski family home. Carmen, daughter of influential gangster Andrzej Rota and wife of smuggler Marek Majewski, makes sandwiches for her children: Franek, Natalia, and little Boris. Then she goes to meet her mother and sister, Marlena, who is due to marry in just a few days. However, problems quickly arise. Carmen's husband, Marek, contacts his partners: Stefan Kozłowski and Wiktor, his brother-in-law. All three specialize in cigarette smuggling, but this doesn't satisfy young Rota's ambitions. Wiktor takes his friends to a greenhouse near Gdynia, where a large shipment of drugs is located. Rota claims it's hashish – and the owners of the "stuff" are in prison. However, his words are a lie. The "hashish" turns out to be heroin

Doctors are fighting for Marek's life. At first, it seems he will recover from the surgery – he regains consciousness and talks to his children. Ultimately, Majewski dies. And in his final moments, his wife is not with him. Carmen is left in the hospital by Inspector Żaryn from the Central Bureau of Investigation, who is investigating the attack. The officer informs Majewska that her husband has agreed to cooperate. He claims that Marek was supposed to hand over a flash drive containing evidence against the entire Rota criminal organization – in exchange for his immediate family being placed in the witness protection program. Żaryn desperately tries to find the missing flash drive.

Żaryn visits Carmen again. He wants her to cooperate with the police and offers her the same terms as Marek. Meanwhile, Borys, after witnessing the assassination attempt on his father, is still traumatized. Andrzej buys his grandson a gift: a small dog. Rota hopes the puppy will help the boy forget the events of the previous few days. Anton once again demands money from Stefan – for the stolen heroin. This time, his men are waiting for Kozłowski in front of Vincent's school. Stefan is terrified. He knows Anton will not hesitate to harm his son. Earlier, Kozłowski also talks to Carmen and gives her a message for Wiktor: the drug has disappeared.

Carmen decides to talk to Anton. She's convinced he's the one who sent the blackmailer after her. She hands the gangster a bag of cash and demands he leave her family alone. The Russian rejects Majewska's offer of protection money and proposes a deal. In exchange for her cooperation, he'll guarantee her and her children's safety. Carmen refuses – she knows Anton is ruthless and shouldn't be trusted. Meanwhile, the police arrive at the house again. Paweł Żaryn continues searching for the flash drive and evidence of the Rota family's criminal activities. At the last minute, Franek saves the day with a clever ploy to save his mother. Anton doesn't let up. He sends Bronek to bring Carmen to a secluded location for a meeting. Upon returning, Carmen realizes she can trust no one – not even her closest friends.

Stefan informs Carmen that the port worker who helped smuggle the tobacco – the "boss" – has been fired. Kozłowski wants to cancel the shipment, but Majewska knows this is impossible. Stefan refuses to help, but Carmen, determined, recruits another "boss" herself – Łukasz Trzciński. And when Kozłowski arrives at her house under the influence of drugs, she finally loses patience. Majewska asks Luther to imprison Stefan until the shipment is safe – so that he doesn't betray her or spoil anything. Rota's bodyguard decides to kill the gangster. Stefan – despite being severely beaten – manages to break free from Luther and escape. Żaryn interrogates Wiktor in custody. He reveals that Marek agreed to cooperate with the police and shows him a photo of Carmen with Anton.

Carmen calls her friends to look for her daughter. Suspecting that Natalia is in Stefan's hands, she wants to stop the heroin shipment for Anton, but the mobster is implacable. He anticipated Carmen's doubts and has prepared for this possibility. Meanwhile, Stefan, who narrowly escaped death in a confrontation with Luther, suspects that Carmen ordered his murder. He is furious with her and plots revenge. However, when he learns that Carmen is working for Anton, he knows he must bring the heroin shipment safely to port, or Anton will take revenge on him and his family. Carmen and Stefan distrust each other, but they decide to work together.
