In 1967, the Beatles were at a crossroads — they quit touring, experimented with drugs and set out to change rock & roll forever. In late 1966 and early 1967, the group would make the most important album in rock history: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. When the Beatles finished Sgt. Pepper in late April 1967, they had spent four months and S75,000 on the project and they knew that what they had created was something different from anything they had done before.
