Anders Lund Madsen has been against the legalization of cannabis since his youth. But now he has doubts - because around the world, there are many countries that have started to say yes to free cannabis. That's why he travels to investigate whether it even makes sense to free cannabis in Denmark. The journey begins with Anders wading straight in and becoming part of Danish history when he is involved in the closure of Pusher Street. Our neighbors in Germany have also partially freed cannabis, and that's why Anders goes across the border to investigate whether it's also a good idea.

The trip goes to Spain, where Anders Lund Madsen has been taken down to uncover the illegal smuggling of hash into Europe and up to Denmark. In his search for answers, he steps right into the criminal world, and he even tries to catch hash smugglers in a speedboat. He also becomes aware that people in the criminal world are prepared to kill for their business. Back home in Denmark, Anders goes behind bars to learn how to smuggle hash across the Danish border. And then he visits a family where hash was about to ruin everything.

On his colorful trip into cannabis country, Anders Lund Madsen travels to Thailand, where the hash market has exploded. You can buy it on every street corner, which has lured more Danes. Anders therefore goes out and visits a Danish man who is building a hash empire, which is not entirely without danger. The explosion in the cannabis market has given rise to new and different opportunities that Anders must try out for himself. He tastes both gourmet cannabis food and is thoroughly smeared in cannabis oil. At the same time, the criminal hash smugglers have been released from prison, but the illegalities still lurk in Thailand.

For 45 years, Anders Lund Madsen has not seen his friend Peter, who was reportedly dying after smoking hash when they were young. Anders therefore goes to Bornholm and visits him to better understand what happened then. Together they also travel to Amsterdam and take the bull by the horns to end an old hash trauma. Anders also finds out that there are people who use cannabis as medicine, and that in Denmark we have large productions of cannabis for medical use. But he also discovers that there is a very special cannabis variety that can be fatal to consume.
