Following the success of the 'Cresta vs Dragweek' series, we're launching our very own channel! Benny (aka: Mechanical Stig) will be followed around by his camera man & 180sx enthusiast from time to time producing what they will call an A+ show not to be missed by ANYONE, apart from maybe your grandma.

In this episode, Gian wakes up to a phone call asking why his 180sx was parked in the middle of the road a couple of blocks over. Obviously, it's been pinched, luckily they didn't get far. We're going to show you how to fix your stolen Silvia... erm, assuming it is yours in the first place.

Benny’s budget drift car isn’t allowed back on the public roads after being rear ended and written off. It is therefore the perfect candidate for some side ways spaghetti action! First off, he will need to give it a tidy up in preparation for tapping walls & trading paint at the track.

Benny gives the Falcon’s interior a full FGX make over and finds a few unexpected things along the way.

Following Dragweek in America, Benny’s 9 Second Cresta docked in at Sydney where he is less than impressed to find it was damaged in transit. Mechanical Stig then prepares the car for the track & we hit Sydney Dragway and Powercruise!

After the beating this engine has gone through, it's time to crack it open to assess the condition.

Benny pulls the worn out 1.3L engine out of the carry van to swap it for its slightly larger brother the 1.6L. However, as we discover the difference between the two, it's looking like it won't be easy...

After deciding to rebuild the 1.3L engine out of the Barrel Brother's Carry Van, Benny throws it back in and we take it for a country drive.

We look back on the couple of weeks leading up to the Cresta's first ever 8 second pass including fire proofing & running it on the dyno. We then take it to the docks where it will be shipped off to the USA. There's high hopes for the Cresta & it's new setup this year. BRING ON DRAGWEEK 2019!

In preparation for an evening's wet skid pan, benny installs a light bar into his mate's drift pig & they take it for a slide. Unfortunately, Adam takes his driving inspiration from 'Dukes of Hazzard'.

The budget drift project continues with some track preparation for an upcoming SparesBox event. Benny changes the clutch & throws in a Subaru BRZ diff!

Benny heads out for a slide with minimal modifications to the car. In this episode of the budget drift build, Benny continues with the mods installing some fresh coilovers along with extra steering lock, all in preparation for the upcoming SparesBox event at our local track.

The track prep continues with an interior strip, seat & steering wheel replacement, headlight buff, and new front grill. We're pretty much ready to hit the SparesBox wet skid pan!

Drag Challenge is held in similar fashion to 'Drag Week' in the USA- it requires participants to race at the allocated tracks as well as drive from drag strip to drag strip in the same car that they race. Racers will hand in their best time slip of the day before getting on the road to their next destination, stopping at designated checkpoints along the way. No support vehicles are allowed, so racers will have to bring their own support crew, tools & equipment with them for the 1500km+ journey.

Drag Challenge continues in QLD, Australia as the boys shoot for their best 1/8th mile time at Warwick Dragway. Following the Skid Factory's coverage of the mustang build pre-Drag Week, the teams head to their first destination to gear up and prepare for the crazy week to come. However, Benny is still on a waitlist with no official spot in the competition!

Due to the non-existence of off the shelf parts, Benny flips and re-mounts the diff brackets upside down as the kei truck gets low!

After the anxious wait to get the cresta a spot in Drag Week, the boys gear up to make their first pass, however an unforeseen setback will make for a challenging late start.

As the boys pull up at Cecil County Dragway, things are looking good... too good. With another difficult day ahead, the team manage to hold their spirits high as they band together & somehow pull through.

After the setbacks of the last few days, the boys are keen to get back to the ‘1 & done’ strategy. As they pull up to Atco Dragway, the sun is yet to rise & the prep has already begun.

It's the second last official day of Drag Week 2019 at Merryland International Dragway. To ensure they see the week through, the boy's strategy remains consistent, however there's talk of turning it up in order to deliver competitive times!

We have a couple of quick & easy upgrades in mind for the kei truck today.. or so we think. Stick around Patrons because we are drawing the quarterly raffle too!

The boys are ready to turn it up! Shooting for PB's all day is followed by a rowdy awards ceremony as the sun goes down on the fifth & final day of drag week!

It's time to make the journey back to Charleston to pack up the Cresta & literally a ton of stuff to send back home to Sydney, Australia.

Benny gives the IS200 a major service & we head to the track for a base figure to check back on once the super charger is installed!

Benny travelled 9 hours to Melbourne to bring home a cappuccino thats been sitting on a farm for almost a decade. Not knowing what to expect, lets get into it.
