Bob Russell (Bud Spencer) e Joe Thomas (Philip Michael Thomas) are a couple of inmates in a grimy Latin American prison, run by the cruel Captain Delgado (David Hess). The two manage to escape from prison and assume the identity of two friars from Rome (respectively, Father Orso and Father Zaccaria), destined for the mission of San Rolando. Here the two discover that some girls from the village have mysteriously disappeared in the city, while looking for a job. While investigating, they discover that the girls are victims of a criminal organization, in which Captain Delgado and the village shaman are also involved.

When we last left off with convicts-turned-fake-priests Father Orso (Bud Spencer) and Father Zach (Philip Michael Thomas), they were sitting down for a feast in the tiny village of San Rolando. As the second episode begins, they have settled down and decided to help the people. They are planting flowers, offering sound spiritual advice, and content with their newfound status as religious figures. Ha, just kidding. Zach is ogling naked girls down at the waterfall (including his main object of desire, Lupita) and Orso is thinking of ways to get out of this hell. The opportunity arrives when their superior Father Campana (Renato Scarpa) entrusts them to take village-made pots ‘n stuff into the city to cash in with a Campana’s contact in the city. Unfortunately, the deaf-and-dumb Father Raphael is tagging along for the ride up river on the riverboat owned by McQuade (Alfie Wise). No worries, Orso thinks, they’ll just ditch him after they get the money for the trinkets.

Father Raphael (Cesar Melendez), our deaf mute, has returned from a sabbatical in the jungle with the head-hunter tribe, the Niquoias, who, as native lore has it, have the duty of guarding the location of the treasure of the legendary lost city of El Dorado. Raphael's passion lies in painting landscapes and the paintings he returns with are striking in their resemblance to descriptions of the entrance to that very same loot stash. Of course we don't find this out until Father's Orso (which, amusingly, is Latin for "bear") and Zach have sold the paintings to rich heiress Michela (Nikhila Bedi), the niece of treasure hunter Grazziano (Erik Estrada), whose father had spent his final days in search of El Dorado, before dying in a plane crash in the jungle. Grazziano, frustrated by the fact that his niece holds the purse strings, has made finding El Dorado his ambition too, hiring the benign professor Clausewitz (Hill & Spencer regular Richard Liberty) and a murderous henchman, Rupert (Italian genre vet Antonio Marsina) to assist him in this goal.

Everything is peaceful in the remote mission in the South American jungle. The Padres of the mission have just won a baseball game against the team of the Scottish river captain McQuade. This victory is just being celebrated as the crash of an airplane disturbs the proceedings. Of course the Padres rush straight to the crash site and recover the wealthy Lord Galveston III and his butler. Unfortunately, the greedy Captain Delgado also gets wind of the crash, and now he also goes in search of the young Lord to obtain a ransom.

This episode starts with Orso and Zach again making one of their now customary trips up river to the city to do work for the monks. Before they leave, Lupita (Mariana Mora) gives Zach a letter to deliver to her father, Lt. Pedro. Naturally, our mock monks are more worried about how they are going to get the extra $8,000 they owe Sagreste (Max Herbrechter) for their plane. They literally receive good fortune when they find a wallet with over $9,000 laying in the middle of the sidewalk. With no ID inside, the boys decide it is another example of divine intervention and proceed to freely spend the cash. They get Father Campana a bunch of cigars and splurge on a multi-course meal (watch for a funny bit where Spencer sips from the finger bowl). Of course, they’re not total hedons and drop some dough on a bunch of toys for the kids in the village. This act draws the attention of a couple of vacationing FBI agents (!) and Orso and Zach split, thinking they’ve been spotted as escaped criminals. What they don’t know is they are peddling some funny money.

Padre Zack needs a break from the chaste monk life. Therefore he leaves the mission of San Rolando, together with Padre Orso, to find distraction in the city. During their absence a group of scouts discovers gold in the river at San Rolando. They inform the unscrupulous businessman Alfonso Santillana about it. With his usual cunning he manages to buy the grounds of the mission. When the monks learn of this malady, they send Celestino to the city to search for Orso and Zack. He finds the two and informs them about the terrible project. This Santillana destroyed the life and love of Orso 10 years ago, also sending him go to jail. Orso and Zack of course take up the fight to save the mission. As the showdown in the mission finally comes, so does the chance for Orso to settle with Santillana.
