Tsunami - Paluu paratiisiin

Liisa Suonsivu and Gerts Friman, who lost their families in the tsunami, return to Khao Lak, Thailand, for the first time since the disaster. Gerts manages to find the exact place where he saw his family for the last time before the wave hit.

Jani Mäkinen returns to Raya Island in Phuket, where he fought for his life and, together with other divers, organized a rescue operations during the disaster. In Khao Lak, Liisa is surprised to find the new rebuilt holiday paradise. Liisa and Gerts visit the hospital where they received emergency treatment 20 years ago.

Ismo Kopra, from the Finnish National Criminal Police, returns to Thailand for the first time since the disaster. Back in 2004 he spent over a year in Thailand, leading the identification operation of the Finnish tsunami victims. He meets Liisa and Gerts and gives them answers to questions that have been bothering them for 20 years. Gerts finds the hospital where he once experienced a shocking disappointment.

Tsunami survivors Liisa and Gerts returned home from Thailand 20 years ago without their families. Now they tell how life continued after the losses, how they found each other and how they are doing now. Diver Jani Mäkinen meets his Thai friends in Khao Lak.
