Amy and Mark team up to represent Suzanne Erikkson, a researcher at Gonnick Foods who was fired when she warned her bosses of the dangers of a new genetically modified grain. She suspected Tom Belfour, her boss. Things take a turn for the worse when Amy and Mark learn that Suzanne and Tom are ex-lovers. Meanwhile, Ben defends an officer in a case of police brutality.

Ben's good conscience is tested when he researches a diplomatic immunity argument on behalf of an alleged rapist; Mitch reveals his romantic side when he defends a client who's been jilted by his fiancée. Amy finds herself strongly attracted to Mark, but tries to resist him because he is married.

A single trial could decide Jonah's career; Amy is having an affair with a married man.

A client's business faces bankruptcy; Amy and Ben track down a woman.
